Blessings Over Seays

Our Adoption Journey

Change of plans November 1, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 8:26 pm

Our court date got bumped to December 15th. We were fully aware that this could happen, but it happened so fast. While we have extra time to get some things done now, our concern is for our children who have to spend another month in the orphanage. Please pray with us that it does not get moved again. God’s timing is perfect, I know, but we can always go to Him and ask.

On a brighter note, our friends D and A are in Ethiopia right now, loving on their little girl. Read all about it here.

Court Date!!!!!!! October 29, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 7:27 am

We have a court date! November 17th! Brian called me yesterday while I was at Target picking up some stickers and lollipops for our future kiddos. I was really expecting a court date in December, so it was a pretty big shock to realize that in less than three weeks, I’ll have two more children and be a mother of six.  God is so good.  I’m singing that song in my head.

We have some major paperwork to do in the next week in order for everything to happen on time, so please be praying that we are able to get that done quickly.

I can’t wait to show you their pictures. I’m pretty sure that I mentioned that they are beautiful.

I think I am nesting because I decided to paint the living room. I have four different colors on the wall and can’t find the one that I like, so the room looks like a pretty autumn rainbow.

We are still raising our travel money, and I have to buy two beds, winter clothes for at least three, and a table that seats eightish.  If anyone knows a go-zillionaire that wants to give some money away, let us know. Maybe with my Coca-cola habit (I almost wrote coke habit, but that looked bad), the end of this adoption will be funded by McDonald’s. Come on Monopoly!

Thank you!!!!!! October 18, 2008

This is a very LATE thank you to those of you who donated to or spread the word about our UnRaffle. With your help we raised about $6000 to help us bring our two sweeties home! That is amazing!

Adoption update: We are still waiting for a court date, so we would love your prayers in the direction of soon:) We took our four children up to Nashville yesterday to send off their passport applications. One more thing scratched off the to-do list.

Go check out the new baby that God has blessed our friends D and A with. She is unbelievably cute and they get to pick her up at the end of the month!

The UnRaffle September 19, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — brianseay @ 8:30 am

It is time to get the UNRAFFLE started. Remember, this is not a full on “raffle” because of our Southern Baptist upbringing and once you head down a path like that you may never make it back. So, we are doing an UNRAFFLE and selling UNTICKETS to you.

100% of the money raised through the UNRAFFLE will help offset our travel costs for our African Adoption. If you don’t know us, feel free to read a quick Seay Family adoption summary.

Here are the details:

UNTICKETS: You will receive 1 UNTICKET for every $25 you donate. There is no limit to how many UNTICKETS you can have in the drawing.

PRIZE: The prize for the UNRAFFLE is a 7 day/night resort stay at your choice of hundreds of locations. We have 2 of these prizes so that means two different people will walk away winners.

You can look at some of the vacation possibilities at the Resort Redemption Website. (**The vacation has to be booked by May 2, 2009 and travel must be completed by November 2, 2009. There are also some restrictions as to when properties are available. Go to the website where you can check on certain dates and destinations) The prize is for lodging only – there is no food included in this. However, if that’s a sticking point for you I would be glad to throw in a case of Ramen Noodles!

WAYS TO WIN: There are two ways to win one of the resort certificates:

#1 – We will hold a drawing of all of the UNTICKETS purchased during the UNRAFFLE. We will make this available live on the internet so everyone can see the validity of the drawing.

#2 – We will give one of the resort certificates automatically to the person/family that DONATES THE MOST. If you give $200 (that would be 8 UNTCKETS) and nobody else surpassed that – you automatically win one of the resort certificates.

TIMELINE: The UNRAFFLE begins today and will end on Friday, October 3rd at NOON (central time). The drawing will take place later that same afternoon.

HOW TO PAY: You can click on that fun DONATE button on the top right to pay via pay pal or credit/debit card OR you can email me (bseay@us.ci.org) and I will give you an address where you can send a check.

Please let me know if you have any questions and we thank you in advance for being a part of our adoption process.

It Starts Tomorrow September 18, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 3:21 pm

Tomorrow we will unveil the “UnRaffle” to help offset some of our travel costs. Details will be forthcoming tomorrow but the prizes associated with this “UnRaffle” will involve a 7 day/night stay at your choice of hundreds of destinations. Every $25 you donate will get you 1 “UnTicket” and that much closer to a great vacation.

Brian’s blog has a few more details but the full explanation will come tomorrow.

Have I ever told you how amazing, sweet, buff, and good looking my husband is? I’m sure I have but I should probably just put that at the end of every blog post to make sure you don’t miss it.

(**This blog post was actaully “ghost written” by previously mentioned husband when putting the “Donate” button the blog)

Thank You September 15, 2008

First, I would like to say thank you, if I haven’t in person, to those of you who have been praying. God’s timing in all of this has been amazing as I look back on it.

We will soon add two children (a boy and a girl) to the Seay clan, though they are already ours in our hearts. We are going to refer to them as Y and S. They are BEAUTIFUL. Y is about nine years old and S is about four years old. Brian has written a post about us and I could not have written it any better.

Thank you so, so much again. By the way, (praise to our God who makes all things possible) I was just fine on the plane ride.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me a Match September 8, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 10:31 am

We have a match meeting scheduled for Wednesday!!! Then, I can spill some of the beans about the referral. We are so excited, so excited, SO EXCITED! I have a small prayer request. I do not like to fly and I am usually heavily drugged when I do. The problem is that we are flying on Wednesday and the match meeting happens soon after we land. What to do? What…to…do? So…if you will ask God to send his peace down to me on Wednesday morning without the aid of anxiety medication, I would be forever grateful. Yippee!

It Came!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 3, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 10:16 am

The phone call came! Brian talked with our adoption agent yesterday and it looks like everything is moving along in the direction of our prayers. Thank you sooooooo, soooooooo much to those of you who have prayed on our behalf. This is so exciting and I want to tell you all about it, but I can’t at this moment in time. In the next few weeks, we’ll be able to get more information out. For now, please continue to pray for this process and for the many African children that desperately need homes. We are blessed to be able to adopt!

Phone Call September 2, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — amyseay @ 7:34 am

We are waiting on the phone call of a lifetime today. Thank you so much for those of you who have been praying for us. Will you pray that the phone call comes? I’d like it to be the good news that we are wanting, but I am COMPLETELY aware that God determines our steps, so a phone call with any information will be great! Patience is always another prayer request of mine.
