Flep January 6, 2008

Our house is a gigantic petri dish for the flu and strep throat right now. My 6 year old threw up several times in the car on our 14 hour road trip back home yesterday. She has both of these illnesses at the same time. The older two have named it Flep (flu + strep). My four year old woke up in the middle of the night screaming and holding his head. He has both illnesses as well. I put him in the bed with me and he would fall asleep and then wake up crying with both hands reaching out for anyone that would help. Brian made it until this afternoon and is the fourth one down. I’m still on antibiotics for strep throat. I spent the day spraying everything in the house with Lysol while the well kids played with their new play station. The bags are still unpacked, Christmas decorations are staring at me, and I never got around to brushing my teeth or taking a shower. I ate a granola bar and ten bites of pasta today. I’m going to sleep on the couch tonight so that Brian doesn’t cough spit into my mouth all night. My stomach is growling and I’m wondering why I neglected the flu shots this year? Do NOT come to our house. If you didn’t contract an illness, Brian and I could potentially bite your head off — Brian, because he is MEAN when he’s sick…me, I’m just hungry.
