Our Adoption Journey

A Dead Reindeer December 3, 2007

We had some pretty strong wind last night. Brian had successfully hung half of our Christmas lights on the house, so when the winds came through, I thought that all of his effort might be in vain. Alas, I was only thinking of me and my house. As I drove to the store this morning, I caught sight of , what I can only describe as a terrible wooden Christmas reindeer death (murder?). One reindeer was lying on its side and looked as if it had been strangled to death by the Christmas lights that had been wrapped around it… lights and cords everywhere…just awful. The other reindeer was standing over his friend as if he was bidding his last farewell. It was so sad.

Just a reminder to tell the people close to you how much they mean to you.

On the adoption front, we mailed the last of our documents to Buckner today. Yeah! Check out Nathaniel, my youngest, proudly placing the envelope in the mail. So far everything looks good. Our home study that we completed for our domestic adoption was tweaked a bit to qualify for international adoption, and we received word that it is on its way to Buckner as well! As soon as we are officially approved, we will start on the dossier, which is a mound of government paperwork. It’s been a good day.

Our walk is this Saturday and we would love to have more sponsors. Keep us in mind!

  2. That was a pretty rotten wind. We lost some panels from our greenhouse, but fortunately no wooden livestock were injured. Are there special vets for wooden livestock? You should post a picture of the carnage.

Welcome to the blogosphere and congratulations with the adoption….
